MALBAY RIVER FLY CRUISE

the heart of the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière- Malbaie National Park, embark on a 1.5-hour cruise on the Malbaie River commented by a naturalist park guard. The activity offers several departures per day. Enjoy a special moment for wildlife observation and the play of light on the rocky walls.

Until the end of October, enjoy a breathtaking activity! This national park is one of the small wonders to see in Quebec. It is thanks, among other things, to the Parc des Hautes-Gorges-De-La-Rivière-Malbaie that the Charlevoix region has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve. It takes its name from the network of valleys that are cut out with very significant elevation differences across its mountains of more than 1,000 metres above sea level. The particular route of the Malbaie River and its grandiose landscapes make this place quite unique. What to do in this beautiful place? Hiking for sure!

This small island of 11 kilometers long by 5 kilometers wide is located opposite the town of Baie-Saint-Paul in an enchanting setting just off the coast of Charlevoix. What to do there? The island has retained its rural charm and tranquility, and you can see vestiges of the past such as the numerous schooners stranded on the beats, visible in several places. The ideal is to go around the island by car or by bike to capture all the beauties of the island.

The Acropolis des Draveurs hiking trail is a must-see activity in Quebec. You can see the highest rock walls in eastern Canada , and at the very end of the trail you can even get a breathtaking view of the Malbaie River, which is well encased at the bottom of the valley. However, be aware that the trail is classified as “difficult” because of its steep drop (800 meters). Be sure that the efforts made will, on the other hand, be rewarded very widely! The duration of the hike is about 5 hours round trip. The ideal thing is to hike early in the morning as you may have the chance to meet caribou at the top! Route 138, which crosses the Charlevoix region between Québec City and Tadoussac, is a magnificent panoramic route. The latter is so grandiose that Tourisme Québec has even made it a tourist circuit named the Route du Fleuve. Certainly one of the most beautiful scenic roads in Canada.
